To Define the Weld Symbol Properties
You must be on the Fillet Weld, Groove Weld, Butt Weld, Plug/Slot Weld, or Spot Weld tab to perform this procedure.
1. Click the Symbol tab.
2. For ISO welds, to display the identification line in the weld symbol, select the Display identification line check box, and then select and option:
Below reference line—Place the identification line in the weld symbol below the reference line.
Above reference line—Place the identification line in the weld symbol above the reference line.
3. To create the symbol to represent the weld on the other side of the joint, select the Create as Other Side symbol check box. Then do the following:
a. To determine the method of placing the next leader, select an option from the Next leader menu.
b. Click the Attachment collector, and then select a planar reference on which to place the symbol.
4. For plug or slot welds, set whether the weld is a plug weld or slot weld by selecting an option in the Weld type menu.
5. To add a note to the weld symbol, type a note in the Add Note box. The note is displayed offset from the symbol’s tail.
