Convergence Options for Structural Analyses
These items appear on the Convergence tab on the dialog boxes for static, prestress static, modal, prestress modal, static analyses with large deformation, static analyses with contact interfaces, and buckling analyses:
Method—Methods for calculating results and determining their accuracy. Different items appear on the tab, depending on the convergence method you select.
For the Multi-Pass Adaptive convergence method:
Polynomial Order—Specify a minimum and maximum polynomial order.
Limits—Specify the Percent Convergence.
Converge on—Select the quantities you want to use.

For the Single-Pass Adaptive convergence method:
Include Snap-through—Stabilizes the solution of nonlinear structures that have a tendency to snap-through or snap back. This option is only available for large deformation static analysis.
Localized Mesh Refinement—Improves the accuracy of contact pressure results. This option is only available for a static analysis with contacts.
Check Contact Force—Ensures convergence of contact forces for a nonlinear static analysis with contacts. This check box is active only for a static analysis of a model with contact interfaces.
Press fit (initial interpenetration)—Allows you to specify whether or not a press fit condition may exist in your model. Select this check box if there may be a press fit in your model, otherwise Creo Simulate will ignore initial interpenetrations. This check box is active only for a static analysis of a model with contact interfaces.
Maximum initial interpenetration—Specifies the value of maximum initial interpenetration that can be detected. Any initial interpenetration larger than this value is ignored.
Calculate detailed stresses at contact interfaces—Calculates detailed stresses at a contact interface. This option is available only for a model with a contact interface.
Advanced Control—Defines a target local stress error and improves the accuracy in low stress results. This option is available only if you have an advanced license.
For the Quick Check method, the tab displays the polynomial order of 3. You can also select the Include Snap-through option.
