About the Import of Container Models and Stock and Finished Parts
Container models are storage assemblies that store assemblies, parts, work planes, work plane sets, and external geometry that are used as local references. They are not part of the Creo Elements/Direct assembly structures.
The *.sdcc container models and the stock finish parts and their relationship defined in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling are imported to Creo depending on whether you explicitly selected the Include Containers / Stock-Finish Relation check box on the Misc tab of the import profile or the Import New Model dialog box.
The following cases explain the import of the *.sdcc container models and the stock finish parts during the import of the *.sdpc, *.sdac, and *.pkgCreo Elements/Direct model files to Creo:
If the Include Containers / Stock-Finish Relation check box on the Misc tab of the import profile or the Import New Model dialog box is selected and the container files and the stock finish parts exist in the Creo Elements/Direct model selected for import, the content files are imported with the container files and the stock finish parts. The container components of the*.pkg assembly models import as container parts.
If you did not select the Include Containers / Stock-Finish Relation check box in the import profile or the Import New Model dialog box, but the container file and the stock finish parts exist as part of the Creo Elements/Direct model selected for import, the model is imported without the container files and the stock finish parts. The import skips the containers and the stock finish parts and are not included in the assembly structure after import, especially when the models are imported from disk.
If the Include Containers / Stock-Finish Relation check box is selected, but the container files and the stock finish parts do not exist in the directory or folder of the Creo Elements/Direct model selected for import, the container files and the stock finish parts are imported as missing components of the Creo Elements/Direct model.
If you did not select the Include Containers / Stock-Finish Relation check box in the import profile or the Import New Model dialog box and the container files and the stock finish parts do not exist as part of the Creo Elements/Direct model selected for import, the Creo Elements/Direct model is imported without the container files and the stock finish parts. Similarly, face, wire, and empty parts too are not imported if their corresponding check boxes are not selected in the import profile or the Import New Model dialog box or if they are not present in the model selected for import.
The import of the *.sdcc container files to Creo does not include work planes or work plane sets.
