To Match Reference Entities when Reloading Imported Geometry
1. Select an import feature and click Model > Operations > Edit Definition or right-click the import feature on the Model Tree and click Edit Actions: > . The Import tab opens.
2. Click File on the Import tab. The File dialog box opens.
3. Click . The Import New dialog box opens.

5. Click OK in the File dialog box to reload geometry from the selected file.
6. Click on the Import tab.

* The Options > Automatic Reference Pairs Matching option is selected by default. Therefore, the reference entities between the original and the new geometry are automatically matched to create reference pairs.
7. If a message warns you about the incomplete reference entity pairs, click Options > Reference Pairs Matching. The Reference Pairs dialog box opens. It lists the incomplete reference pairs with reference entities that are the parents of downstream features by default.
8. Retain All References in Reference Type to match reference entities regardless of their geometric type or select an entity type from the Reference Type list to match reference entities and create reference pairs of the selected entity type. You can set the Reference Type filter to surfaces, quilts, edges, datum entities, curves, or facets.
9. Select an incomplete reference pair that displays the warning icon. Original Reference displays the name of the reference entity in the original model.
10. Activate New Reference and select a reference entity in the new geometry. The selected entity highlights in the model. The matching of the reference pair is complete and it disappears from the list of incomplete reference pairs in the Reference Pairs dialog box.

* The Creo application warns you when you select an entity that is already part of a reference pair. You can, alternatively, select an incomplete reference pair and click Auto Match to automatically match the reference pair or click Auto Match All to automatically match all the incomplete reference pairs.
11. Click Show Complete Pairs to view the matched reference pairs.
12. After you complete matching reference pairs with local child references, click Show Pairs without Local Children to view the incomplete reference pairs with external child references.
13. Optionally complete the matching of the reference pairs with external child references just as you matched reference pairs with local child references.
14. Click OK in the Reference Pairs dialog box.
