To Insert Imported Curve Data in a Creo Part
1. Open a Creo part and click Model > Get Data > Import. The Open dialog box opens.
 
* If you select a coordinate system in the existing part model before you click Model > Get Data > Import, you can insert the imported feature with reference to the selected coordinate system.
2. Set Type to the file type of the part model containing the curve data that you want to insert in the part.
3. Browse and select the part model with the curve data.
4. Click Import. The File dialog box and the Import tab open.
 
* You must select options in the File dialog box before you proceed to use options on the Import tab.
5. Retain the import profile in use or select an existing import profile of the format from the Profile list.
6. If you want to create an import profile for the format, click Details to open the format-specific import profile editor and modify the import settings on the profile editor.
7. Set Curve as the Import type if you did not set this option in the import profile.
8. Click Customize layer filter and set the import status of layers with redundant data to Blank, Skip, or Ignore in the Layer Import Options dialog box if you want to hide or exclude the redundant data. The Layer Import Options dialog box displays the curve count in the selected part.
9. Click OK in the File dialog box.
10. Select a coordinate system as reference to place the imported curve feature or click Datum > to create an asynchronous coordinate system.
 
* The imported curves are placed at the default location or at the placement coordinate system you selected in the existing part model before you clicked Model > Get Data > Import.
11. Click on the Import tab to insert the imported curve data to the part and quit the Import tab.
