To Export a Part or Assembly to an IGES File
1. In an assembly or part click File > Save As > Save a Copy. The Save a Copy dialog box opens.
2. Select IGES (*.igs) in the Type list.
3. Accept the default name in the File name box or type a new model name for the export.
4. Click Options in the Save a Copy dialog box. The IGES Export Profile Settings profile editor opens.
5. Click Load Profile and select a stored IGES export profile from the profiles directory or customize the export settings in IGES Export Profile Settings.
6. Click OK in IGES Export Profile Settings.
7. Click OK in the Save a Copy dialog box to export the model or select the Customize Export check box before you click OK to select layers and a coordinate system for the exported model.
If you selected the Customize Export check box, the Export IGES dialog box opens.
8. Click Customize layers in the Export IGES dialog box to export layers. The Choose Layers dialog box opens.
9. Click Auto ID to assign layer IDs to layers that do not have IDs, set the layer export status of layers, and click OK in the Choose Layers dialog box.
10. Click Quilts in the Export IGES dialog box and select quilts to export.
11. Use the default coordinate system or select a coordinate system for the part or assembly.
12. Click Export in the Export IGES dialog box. The part or the assembly model is exported to IGES using the settings of the IGES export profile and the additional options in the Export IGES dialog box.
