About Exporting to CADDS 5
When you export a part or assembly to CADDS 5, you are working in the Explicit mode of CADDS 5, an industry-standard CAD/CAM design environment. The Explicit mode allows you to access the various CADDS applications.
Edge and surface definitions are transferred to CADDS 5 in their exact geometric form using the Non Uniform Rational B-Splines (NURBS) mathematical description. The coordinate systems of the Creo models are exported as Cplane elements to CADDS 5.
Execute File
When you export an assembly to CADDS 5, an execute file named <export model name>-exec is created. When you run the execute file with CADDS 5, it creates:
Default drawings and views for the exported CADDS 5 models.
Temporary view files (tvfs) that you can use to view CADDS 5 parts in an assembly.
If Associative Topology Bus is enabled when you are exporting an assembly, and the assembly contains cabling geometry, the execute file converts this exported cable data to CADDS 5 cables.
You can create and use export profiles for the transfer of part and assembly models to CADDS 5. You can use the CADDS5 Export Profile Settings export profile editor to edit stored CADDS 5 export profiles or create export profiles that are specific to the CADDS 5 format, at the start of the session or at runtime, after you begin the export.
