About Creo Elements/Direct 3D Import Options in the Profiles
The following options are available on the Misc tab of the import profile and the Import New Model dialog box when the model selected for import belongs to the Creo Elements/Direct formats, such as *.bdl, *.pkg, *.sdp, *.sda, *.sdac, or *.sdpc:
Include Containers / Stock-Finish Relation—Specifies the inclusion of containers and their contents in the import. Also specifies the inclusion of stock and finished parts and their relation defined in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling.
Containers in Creo Elements/Direct are special types of assemblies. They store parts, assemblies, and the associated tools such as work planes and work plane sets. Containers also store external geometry for use as local references and are not part of the Creo Elements/Direct assembly structures. The container components of the *.pkg assemblies import as container parts. Their import is skipped when you do not select this option.
Include Face Parts—Specifies the inclusion of face parts in the import and shows default selection.
Face parts are composed of single faces or a combination of faces. Solid parts are automatically generated in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling when there are no gaps between the faces of face parts. Face parts in Creo Elements/Direct are standalone or are included in part models.
Include Wire Parts—Specifies the inclusion of wire parts in the import and shows default selection.
Wire parts in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling are a collection of 3D curves. Wire parts consist of straight lines, arcs, circles, spline curves, spirals, and curves on surfaces.
Include Empty Parts—Specifies the inclusion of empty parts in the import and shows default selection.
An empty part is a new part in a session of Creo Elements/Direct. Empty parts in Creo Elements/Direct are parts without geometry in which you can create various elements and the part or assembly models.
