About the Copy Component Definition Dialog Box
Use the Copy Component Definition dialog box to control the copying of project subassemblies and connector or equipment elements, in the following cases:
Reusing a copy of an existing element.
Replacing an element with a copy of itself.
In the Name box, type the name of the copied element or use the default name.
If the element to copy is an assembly, the Components area of the dialog box is available for you to control the copying of the components of assemblies:
Components—The Components table contains the following elements:
A list of all components of the assembly with their existing names.
A list of check boxes to control whether components are to be copied.
A list of New Name boxes for providing new names for the copies of the subcomponents. If you select the Copy check box for a component, you can type a new name for the component or accept the default name. If you do not select the Copy check box, the component is not copied when the assembly is copied.
Automatic Selection—If you click Automatic Selection, components are automatically selected for copy and new names appear in the New Name boxes.
—Click to include components to copy by selecting them on the model.
—Click exclude components from the copy by selecting them on the model.
Components selected for copy are highlighted in red and components which are not selected for copy are highlighted in green. Click OK to accept the definition and perform the copy or click Cancel.
