What is the benefit of this enhancement?
The standalone surface finish can now collect semantic references. A dedicated semantic reference command is now available on the new contextual surface finish ribbon. The attachment reference is automatically added, and it is possible to add additional references.
This enhancement is useful when you want to associate all relevant references to a surface finish that is used in the model. It provides an easy way to add semantic references to their surface finish instances for model-based definition, and for the reuse of this information by the downstream applications.
Surface finish now also supports the following additional capabilities of standalone annotations:
You can create associated parameters for standalone surface finish instances.
You can designate the surface finish as a control characteristic.
Issues about failing surface finish references are reported in the notification center.
Surface finish instances are supported by the semantic query tool.
You can exclude surface finish instances when their parent references are suppressed, excluded, or deleted.
