Advanced Restricted Reference Management Logic for Surface Finish
Restricted reference management is now available from both the Individual and Surface Sets tabs of the References dialog box. The Surface Sets tab also has non-restricted reference management access point. The layout of the Annotation Feature dialog box is also updated.
User Interface Location: The Surface Sets tab for a standalone surface finish and the surfaces collector for annotation feature-owned surface finish, as shown in the following graphic:

What is the benefit of this enhancement?
You can easily specify the restricted references (that means, surfaces) where the placement of more than a single surface finish is restricted. A physical surface finish can have only one surface finish definition.
This enhancement is useful when you want to make sure that no additional surface finish instances could be applied to the model surfaces that were collected as restricted surfaces of another surface finish instance. This is in order to avoid ambiguous situations.
This enhancement provides an easier way to manage restricted or non-restricted references for the surface finish application.
Additional Information
Tips:
None.
Limitations:
A placement reference is automatically considered as a restricted reference. A reference that is not added via the restricted references user interface, for example, added as an individual reference or added via the non-restricted command, is considered as a non-restricted reference. Only the placement reference and the references that are listed under the node with the icon are counted as restricted references. Any attempt to place another surface finish on a restricted reference is blocked, and a message is displayed. The new commands allow you to add restricted and non-restricted references using advanced surface sets collection methods as well as individual references.
Does this replace existing functionality?
No.
