About the Curve from Point and Direction User Interface
The Curve from Point and Direction user interface consists of commands, tabs, and shortcut menus. Click Model > Datum > Curve > Curve from Point and Direction to open the Curve from Point and Direction tab.
Commands
References
Start point collector—Collects a datum point, vertex, or coordinate system to define the start point of the curve.
Surfaces collector—Collects the surfaces of a body or a quilt on which to place the curve.
Direction collector—Collects a surface, plane, curve, edge, axis, coordinate system axis, or vertex to define the initial direction of the curve. The direction of the reference will be projected onto the surface at the start point of the curve.
—Flips the direction of the curve 180 degrees at the start point.
Angle—Defines the angle between the initial direction and the tangent to the curve at the start point.
Extent
Side 1—Defines the extent of the curve from the start point, in the selected direction.
By Length—Extends the curve to a specified length.
Value box—Sets a length value for the curve.
By Reference—Extends the curve to the selected reference.
Reference collector—Collects a reference to define the curve extent.
By Domain—Extends the curve along all the selected surfaces until the curve reaches the domain boundary.
Side 2—Defines the extent of the curve from the start point, in the opposite direction of Side 1.
In addition to the extent options listed for Side 1, also contains the following option:
None—Do not extend the curve in the second direction.
