To Create an External Analysis
1. Click Analysis > External Analysis. The External Analysis dialog box opens.
2. Select Setup to define pre-process relations and click Edit Relations button. The Relations dialog box opens.
In the Relations dialog box, type a relation in the text box and press ENTER. You can type multiple relations by pressing ENTER after each one. To accept the relations, click OK
3. Select Write to write parameters and dimension to an external file.
Click Add Parameter and select a parameter that you want to use in the analysis from the Parameters dialog box. Accept the selection and click OK to continue.
Click Add Dimension and select a dimension in the model window that you want to use in the analysis. Accept the selection and click the dimension in the model to continue.

To remove or delete a parameter or dimension, select the parameter or dimension from the list in the External Analysis dialog box and click Delete. Otherwise, right click on the name of the parameter or the dimension, a shortcut menu appears. Click Remove in the shortcut menu if you want to remove the selected parameter or dimension. Click Remove All in the shortcut menu if you want to remove all the parameters or dimensions.
Click Write To File button to select an external file. You can also select the output format of the external file from the Output Format list.
4. Select Execute to enter the script commands to execute an external application.
5. Select Read to read parameters from an external file.
Select the format of an external file for input into the analysis from the Input Format list.
Click Read From File button to select the external file for input. Creo Parametric reads the name, value and unit from the file and displays them in a table.
6. Select Post-Process to define post-process relations and click Edit Relations button. The Relations dialog box opens.
In the Relations dialog box, type a relation in the text box and press ENTER. You can type multiple relations by pressing ENTER after each one. To accept the relations, click OK.
7. Click Compute to perform the analysis.
8. To view the results of the analysis in an Information window, click Info.
9. To save the analysis expand or collapse the Saved Analyses interface to enter its name and click Save.
10. To save this analysis in an analysis feature, click Add Feature and enter the name for the feature. A new analysis feature appears on the Model Tree.
11. Click Close to close the External Analysis dialog box.
