About Manipulating the Control Mesh
You can manipulate a polygonal control mesh to create the required Freestyle surface. Use the dragger to perform the following operations on the selected mesh elements:
Move or rotate.
Perform 1D, 2D, or 3D scaling.
In addition, you can also perform the following operations:
Position the mesh elements using a reference plane or a view orientation.
Align the selected mesh elements with reference to an external plane or a planar surface. By default, you can maintain associativity between the resultant Freestyle geometry and its references.
Align 1–sided and 2–sided edges with reference to external geometry such as an edge or a curve. You can use all the Freestyle commands on such aligned edges. However, you can move the vertices of the aligned control mesh only along the edge or the curve.
Orient the selected mesh elements with reference to a planar surface or a datum plane.
