About Rigid Body Measures
Several predefined measures allow you to measure the behavior of a selected rigid body in your mechanism. If you have a Mechanism Dynamics license, you can create all of the following types of rigid body measure. If not, you can only create Orientation, Angular Velocity, or Angular Acceleration.
Orientation—Measure the orientation of the rigid body LCS with respect to a selected coordinate system.
Angular velocity—Measure the absolute angular velocity of the rigid body with respect to a selected coordinate system.
Angular acceleration—Measure the absolute angular acceleration of the rigid body with respect to a selected coordinate system.
Mass—Measure the total mass of the rigid body.
Weight—Measure the total weight of the rigid body. The weight is calculated as the product of the mass and the defined gravity. You must enable gravity for your analysis to measure rigid body weight.
Center of mass—Measure the location of the rigid body's center of mass with respect to a selected coordinate system.
Centroidal inertia—Measure the inertia about the rigid body's center of mass.
