To Create a Sheet Metal Cut
1. Click Sheetmetal > Extruded Cut. The Extruded Cut tab opens. The Placement tab opens by default.
2. In the Placement tab use one of the following options:
When a sketch exists, click Unlink to break the association with the sketch. An internal sketch is created using a copy of the sketch. Create a sketch and click .
When a sketch does not exist, click Define and set references. Create a sketch and click .
3. Select an option from the Depth list, or click Options and select a Depth option and a value for each side, if required.
4. To flip the depth direction to the other side of the sketch plane, click .
5. Click the arrow next to Normal to Surface, and select the type of cut to create:
Normal Both Surfaces—Creates the cut by removing material normal to the driving and offset surfaces. You can create this type of cut when it is possible to unbend and bend back the model geometry on cutting areas.
Normal to Driving Surface—Creates a cut by removing material normal to the driving surface.
Normal to Offset Surface—Creates a cut by removing material normal to the offset surface.
6. To thicken the sketch, click Thicken Sketch and specify a value.
7. To change the direction of the extrude to the other side of the material, click .
8. Click .
