About the Sketched Form User Interface
The Sketched Form user interface consists of commands, tabs, and shortcut menus. Click Sheetmetal > Form > Sketched Form to access the Sketched Form tool.
Commands
—Creates a punch.
—Creates a piercing.
—Sets the depth of the punch or piercing.
—Flips the direction of the punch or piercing.
—Flips the material thickness direction of a punch.
Tabs
Placement—Displays the selected sketch in the collector. Click Define to create a new sketch. Click Edit to change an existing sketch.
Options—Displays the following options:
Exclude Surfaces—Available only for punches. Collects sets of surfaces to exclude from the punch.
Capped ends—Available only for punches. Caps the punch.
Add taper—Available only for punches. Tapers the sides of the punch.
Round sharp edges—Sets the radius and location of sharp edges to round:
Nonplacement edges—Rounds sharp edges created by the punch or piercing that do not lie on the placement surface.
Placement edges—Rounds sharp edges created by the punch or piercing that lie on the placement surface.
Trim edges of sheared form—Apply a finishing operation to the formed part by removing excess material from its sloping side surfaces in order to align them with the original boundary edges.
Properties—Displays the feature information as follows:
Name—Shows a default feature name.
—Shows feature information in a browser.
Shortcut Menus
Right-click the graphics window to access the shortcut commands:
Sketch—Activates the sketch collector.
Excluded Surfaces—Activates the Exclude Surfaces collector.
Define Internal Sketch—Opens Sketcher to create a sketch.
Edit Internal Sketch—Opens Sketcher to edit a sketch.
Clear—Removes references from the active collector.
Punch—Creates a punch.
Piercing—Creates a piercing.
Add Taper—Tapers the sides of a punch.
Show Section Dimensions—Displays sketch dimensions.
Hide Section Dimensions—Hides sketch dimensions.
