Use the Helical Sweep tool to create a sheet metal wall or surface with helical sweep geometry. When a helical swept wall is not the first wall, use the tool to create a solid cut. First sketch the helix sweep profile and define the helix axis (axis of revolution for the helix). Then sketch a section to sweep along the helix. Finally, define the pitch (the distance between coils).

You can redefine a helical swept wall as a surface, or a helical swept surface as a wall, if the wall is not the first one in a design. You must specify thickness for a first wall. Keep in mind that additional options specific to Sheetmetal Design are available for the Helical Sweep tool.
