To Address Chamfer Placement Ambiguity
1. Select the references for the chamfer and on the Model tab, click the arrow next to Chamfer, and click Edge Chamfer. The Edge Chamfer tab opens.
2. Perform one of the following actions:
If there is ambiguity between mutually exclusive groups of chamfer pieces, select a group by clicking Next Solution on the Edge Chamfer tab. The system displays preview geometry of the next group of chamfer pieces.
If the selected mutually exclusive group has chamfer pieces that have unclear placement, perform the following actions:
1. Click the Pieces tab.
2. In the Sets list, select the chamfer set that contains the chamfer pieces that you want to address. All of the chamfer pieces for the current chamfer set are listed in the Pieces table.
3. In the Pieces table, do one of the following:
Exclude a chamfer piece—Select the chamfer piece to exclude and select Excluded. The chamfer piece is removed from the model. To exclude other chamfer pieces in the current chamfer set, repeat as needed.
*
You cannot exclude all of the listed chamfer pieces.
Include a chamfer piece—Select the chamfer piece to include and select Included. The chamfer piece is shown on the model. To include other excluded chamfer pieces, repeat as needed.
*
All chamfer pieces are included by default.
4. Close the Pieces tab to activate Sets mode and continue working with chamfer sets.
3. At this point, the ambiguity for the current chamfer set has been addressed. If needed, select another chamfer set that contains ambiguity to address in the Sets list, or click OK.
*
You can also use Excluded or Included on the Pieces tab shortcut menu.
If you excluded multiple pieces in the current chamfer set and want to quickly include them all, select All included from the Pieces tab shortcut menu.
To quickly locate a piece on your model, place your cursor over each piece in the Pieces table and it is dynamically highlighted in the graphics window.
