To Create a Plunge Tool Motion
1. On the Trajectory, Face, or Manual Cycle tab, select Plunge in the Tool Motions list.
The Plunge dialog box opens. This tool motion makes the tool plunge before a selected tool motion or another approach motion. The dialog box contains the following options:
2. The Reference cut collector displays the defined cut.
3. The Plunge Axis option allows you to specify an axis to define the start point for every plunge region.
4. The Offset options allows the tool to plunge at a rapid speed to the location offset from the start point of the next tool motion. You can specify offsets along the X-, Y-, and Z- directions.
5. The Clear Distance option allows you to specify the length of the approach motion.
6. Click Parameters to edit the tool motion parameters using the Edit Parameters dialog box.
7. Click OK to create the approach motion or click Cancel to quit.
