To Create Tool Motions for Manual Milling Cycles
This procedure describes how you can specify tool motions for manual milling cycles using Goto Point motions, Go Delta motions, Retract motions, CL Commands, Goto Plane/Surface motions, and Goto Axis motions while editing a step in the Process Manager or editing a Manual Cycle sequence.
1. When creating or editing a Manual Cycle step, click Tool Motions on the Manual Cycle tab.
2. From the Tool Motions list, select a type of tool motion from the following options:
Follow Curve—Select the curve if it exists or define a curve using the Sketch tool or Datum Curve tool.
Plunge
—Approach at a rapid speed along the retract surface to the location directly above the start point of the next Tool Motion.
Retract—Go from the current location vertically up to the retract plane.
Goto Point—Go to a datum point or to a point on the tool path. You can also specify the tool axis orientation.
Go Delta—Specify tool motions in increments along the axes of the NC sequence coordinate system with respect to the current position of the tool.
Goto Plane/Surface—Go to a datum plane or any surface on the manufacturing model.
Goto Axis—Go to an axis on the manufacturing model.
Goto Home —Go to the specified Home point at the end of the cut motion.
CL Command—Insert a customized CL command anywhere along the tool path. You can either select a location on the tool path, or you can insert a command at the current tool position.
3. You can manipulate the list of tool motions using the following options on the shortcut menu of a selected tool motion or CL command:
Copy—Copy the selected Tool motion or motions and CL command or commands and place them on the clipboard, for insertion at a different control point.
Cut—Remove the selected Tool motion or motions and CL command or commands and place them on the Clipboard, for insertion at a different control point.
Delete—Remove the selected Tool motion or motions and CL command or commands.
Edit Definition—Change the selected Tool motion or CL command.
Edit Parameters—Modify the parameters of the tool motion.
