1. Select an import feature and click Model > Operations > Edit Definition or select the import feature on the Model Tree or the graphics window and click on the mini toolbar that appears. The Import tab opens.
For facet features, the Facet tab opens in addition to the Import tab. Edit the facet features using options on the Facet tab, close the Facet tab, and then use the Import tab to reload the source file.

5. Retain the original import profile settings or click Details to modify the import options in the embedded profile.
If you reset the Use templates, Import type, and Enable ATB profile options, the changed settings are ignored because profile option settings are valid only for the initial import of the models.
6. Click OK in the File dialog box to reload geometry from the selected file. The text box next to File on the Import tab displays the name and location of the selected file. For a standard import feature, the Geometry and Topology Structure (GTS) Tree in Import DataDoctor displays a new node.
7. Select a coordinate system as reference to place the reloaded geometry or click Datum > to create an asynchronous coordinate system.
8. If required, click Import Data Doctor on the Import tab to use Import DataDoctor (IDD) to edit the geometry. For a facet feature, click Edit Facets to use options on the Facet tab to edit the facet feature.
The Options > Automatic Reference Pairs Matching option is selected by default. Therefore, the reference entities between the original and the new geometry are automatically matched to create reference pairs.
9. Click on the Import tab.
