To Append an AutoCAD 3D DXF File to an Existing Part
1. Click Model > Get Data > Import with a part open. The Open dialog box opens.
2. Select DXF (*.dxf) in the Type box. The DXF files in the working directory appear.
3. Select the DXF file you want to append to an existing part. Browse to find the file.
4. Click Import. The File dialog box and the Import tab open.

Select options in the File dialog box before you proceed to use options on the Import tab.
5. Select an import profile from the Profile list to replace the import profile in use or click Details to open the DXF - Import Profile editor and modify the import profile settings in the import profile editor.
6. Select other options on the File dialog box and click OK.
7. Accept the default coordinate system or select a coordinate system to position the appended geometry on the Import tab.
8. Click on the Import tab. The DXF file is appended to the native part model. The import log file is automatically generated in the working directory.
