To Add and Delete Reference Pairs of a Redefined Import Feature
1. Select an import feature and click Model > Operations > Edit Definition or select the import feature on the Model Tree or the graphics window and click on the mini toolbar that appears. The Import tab opens.
2. Click Edit on the Import tab. The File dialog box opens.
3. Click and select a file in the Import New dialog box to reload geometry from the selected file.
4. Click OK in the File dialog box and click on the Import tab.
*
The Options > Automatic Reference Pairs Matching option is selected by default. Therefore, the reference entities between the original and the new geometry are automatically matched to create reference pairs.
5. Click Options > Reference Pairs Matching on the Import tab. The Reference Pairs dialog box opens.
6. Retain All References in Reference Type to create reference pairs regardless of their geometric type or select an entity type from the Reference Type list to create reference pairs of the selected entity type. You can set the Reference Type filter to surfaces, quilts, edges, datum entities, curves, or facets.
7. Click or right-click in the graphics window and click Add Reference Pair to create a new reference pair.
8. Select an entity in the model when Original Reference prompts you to select a reference entity. The selected entity is highlighted in the model and Original Reference displays the name of the selected reference entity.
*
You can reset the Reference Type filter to match the entity type of the selected entity displayed in Original Reference. For example, if the original reference entity is a surface, set Reference Type to Surfaces to create a surface-type reference pair.
9. Select another reference entity in the model when New Reference prompts you to select a reference entity. The selected entity is highlighted in the model. New Reference displays the reference entity name and the Reference Pairs dialog box lists the new reference pair as Ref Pair 1.
10. To delete a reference pair, select a reference pair from the list of complete reference pairs displayed in the Reference Pairs dialog box.
11. Click or right-click in the graphics window and click Delete Reference Pair to exclude the selected reference pair from the list of reference pairs displayed in the Reference Pairs dialog box.
12. Click OK.
