To Add and Delete Reference Pairs of a Redefined Import Feature
1. Select an import feature and click > > or select the import feature on the Model Tree or the graphics window and click

on the mini toolbar that appears. The
Import tab opens.
2. Click Edit on the Import tab. The File dialog box opens.
3. Click

and select a file in the
Import New dialog box to reload geometry from the selected file.
4. Click
OK in the
File dialog box and click

on the
Import tab.
| The > option is selected by default. Therefore, the reference entities between the original and the new geometry are automatically matched to create reference pairs. |
5. Click > on the Import tab. The Reference Pairs dialog box opens.
6. Retain All References in Reference Type to create reference pairs regardless of their geometric type or select an entity type from the Reference Type list to create reference pairs of the selected entity type. You can set the Reference Type filter to surfaces, quilts, edges, datum entities, curves, or facets.
7. Click

or right-click in the graphics window and click
Add Reference Pair to create a new reference pair.
8. Select an entity in the model when Original Reference prompts you to select a reference entity. The selected entity is highlighted in the model and Original Reference displays the name of the selected reference entity.
| You can reset the Reference Type filter to match the entity type of the selected entity displayed in Original Reference. For example, if the original reference entity is a surface, set Reference Type to Surfaces to create a surface-type reference pair. |
9. Select another reference entity in the model when New Reference prompts you to select a reference entity. The selected entity is highlighted in the model. New Reference displays the reference entity name and the Reference Pairs dialog box lists the new reference pair as Ref Pair 1.
10. To delete a reference pair, select a reference pair from the list of complete reference pairs displayed in the Reference Pairs dialog box.
11. Click

or right-click in the graphics window and click
Delete Reference Pair to exclude the selected reference pair from the list of reference pairs displayed in the
Reference Pairs dialog box.
12. Click OK.
