About Importing Solid Edge Parts and Assemblies
You can import Solid Edge parts and assemblies, insert Solid Edge parts in Creo parts, or assemble Solid Edge part and subassembly components in Creo assemblies. The brep geometry and the product structures of Solid Edge parts and assemblies are imported to Creo.
You can import:
Part and multi-level assembly models with extended file names.
Standalone part models and part components of assemblies that contain solid bodies
Datum features such as curves, planes, axes, and coordinate systems with datum tags.
Colors assigned directly to parts, solid and surface bodies, faces, and assembly components and colors assigned indirectly to the part and assembly components of the sub-assemblies.
Material at the part-level
Attributes such as material name.
Density with units.
Sheetmetal parts as geometry.
Surfaces, quilts, and geometric features solidify during import. Closed quilts solidify to form solid features. The import of assembly structures converts components to solid import features. Part and assembly level attributes such as material name are imported as string type parameters. The colors assigned indirectly to the part and assembly components of the sub-assemblies include the color overrides at or below the highest level within an assembly structure. However, the colors assigned to parts do not override the body-level colors. The colors of the part and assembly components of the sub-assemblies are stored in the top-level assemblies.
Material assigned to the Solid Edge models at the part-level are imported. When you import a Solid Edge part with multiple bodies, the part-level material is assigned to the imported part as Master Part Material and the bodies of the imported part are set to the Follow Master Material attribute.
You can use profiles for the import. Import log files are automatically generated in the working directory when the import is complete.
