About Exporting Facet Data of 3D Models to DXF and DWG Formats
You can export parts and assemblies with facet data as 3DFACE entities to the DXF and DWG formats. The 3D surfaces are converted to facets that you can use for visualization purpose. The triangulated facet data is converted to the DXF and DWG 3DFACE entities.
You can use the format-specific DXF and DWG export profiles to customize the export of models to the DXF and DWG formats. Use the DXF Export Profile Settings and the DWG Export Profile Settings export profile editors to create DXF and DWG export profiles at the start of a Creo session or customize the stored DXF and DWG export profiles at runtime, after you begin the export of the 3D models to the DXF and DWG formats. You can set options in the DXF Export Profile Settings and the DWG Export Profile Settings export profiles to include or exclude the export of facet geometry and quilts. You can also set options to define the quality of the exported facets that depends on the fineness of the triangulation data. Set the Tessellation Settings options for chord height and step size in the DXF Export Profile Settings and the DWG Export Profile Settings export profiles.
For assemblies consisting of facet and brep data, a warning states that you cannot export the brep data or brep components of the assembly. The brep data of the part and assembly models is ignored when you export facet data to the DXF and DWG formats. For multilevel assemblies, all instances of the part or subassembly components and assembly-level quilts are placed on individual layers in the DXF or DWG file.
