To Perform Diagnostics on the Model
1. Click > on the Import DataDoctor tab. The Troubleshooter opens.
2. Click > in the Troubleshooter. The IDD Troubleshooter Settings dialog box opens.
3. Set up the required diagnostics in the IDD Troubleshooter Settings dialog box. The Troubleshooter organizes geometry checks by component and the base-level nodes according to the diagnostics you have defined. If you activate a node that has geometry checks, the Troubleshooter only displays the activated node.
4. Expand a node in the Troubleshooter tree. You can click > to expand all the nodes listed in the Troubleshooter tree. For each node, its geometry checks are grouped together according to the diagnostic type as subnodes in the following order of problem severity. They are preceded by dots in colors that indicate the severity of the geometric defects and the category of the defects.
◦ Red dots—Errors
◦ Yellow dots—Warnings
◦ Blue dots—Information
The number in parenthesis next to the diagnostic type indicates the number of geometry checks of the same type.
5. Expand a subnode that represents a diagnostic type. Each item of the same diagnostic type is listed as item 1, item 2, and so on. Each geometry check is also preceded by a dot that indicates its severity.
6. Select a geometry check. The corresponding defective geometry highlights in the model in green color. The defective geometry or the problem area zooms in. The text area of the Troubleshooter displays the diagnostic and the recommended solution.
7. Refit the model to screen after you zoom in and check the problem area that is relevant to the item selected in the Troubleshooter tree.
8. Right-click a selected item and use the options on the shortcut menu or options from Edit on the Troubleshooter menu to perform the following tasks:
◦ Display Note—Displays yellow arrows that point to the problem geometry in the model and a note that contains the problem statement and the suggested solution. The notes displayed in the graphics window are the same as the notes that are visible in the text area of the Troubleshooter. You can also select the check box against a geometry check in the Note column to display the note for the geometry check with details of the diagnostics.
◦ Ignore—Does not display the geometry check in the Troubleshooter. You can also select the check box against a geometry check in the Ignore column to ignore the specific geometry check. Select > on the Troubleshooter menu to view the ignored geometry check. Alternatively, right-click and click Restore or deselect the relevant check box in Ignore to restore the ignored geom checks.
◦ Information—Also available as > in the Troubleshooter, this option displays the problem statement and the suggested solution for the relevant geometry check in the Information Window.
◦ Select Problem Geometry—Highlights the defective geometry in red. Facilitates the quick selection of problem geometry for the suggested remedial action you intend to perform.
◦ Select Parent Node—Highlights and selects the node to which the geometry check belongs in the GTS tree.
9. Use the following options as required from Edit on the Troubleshooter menu:
◦ Display All Notes—Displays notes with the details of the diagnostics for all the geometry checks identified in the Troubleshooter.
◦ Erase All Notes—Removes all the notes displayed from the graphics window.
◦ Ignore All—Ignores all geometry checks.
◦ Restore All—Restores all the ignored geometry checks.
10. Set the View options in the Troubleshooter as follows:
◦ Deselect Attributes to remove the Note and Ignore check boxes for each item in the Troubleshooter. Attributes is selected by default.
◦ Select Expand All and Collapse All to expand all the component nodes and their subnodes and thereafter collapse all the components and their subnodes.
◦ Deselect Auto Refit so that the problem geometry for a geometry check selected in the Troubleshooter highlights without spin and zoom. Auto Refit is selected by default .
◦ Deselect Show errors, Show warnings, or Show info items to remove the display of errors, warnings, and information related to the selected geometry check item in the Troubleshooter. These View options are selected by default to automatically display the errors, warnings, and information of a selected geometry check item.
11. Click Close in the Troubleshooter.
