To Open and Save a non-Creo Part or Assembly as a Creo Model
1. Click File > Open. The File Open dialog box opens.
2. Browse and select a part or assembly model that belongs to one of the following file formats:
Autodesk Inventor
CATIA V4 or V5
SolidWorks
NX
Creo Elements/Direct*.sdpc or *.sdac content file
3. Click Open. The part or assembly model that belongs to the selected file format opens as a non-Creo model.
4. Click File > Save As > Save a Copy. The Save a Copy dialog box opens.
5. Specify a new name for the non-Creo part or assembly model in File name.
6. Set Type to *.prt or *.asm.
7. Click OK. The part or assembly is saved as a Creo model by the new name you specified.
