To Redefine a Fastener
1. Select a method that follows to redefine the fastener:
a. On the Tools tab in the Intelligent Fastener group, click Redefine.
b. Select a component of the fastener to redefine.
or
a. Select a component of the fastener to redefine.
b. On the Tools tab in the Intelligent Fasteners group, click Redefine.
or
a. Select a component of the fastener.
b. On the mini toolbar click Redefine for a screw fastener or click Redefine for a dowel pin fastener.
2. If the selected element has multiple appearances then the Redefine Options dialog box opens. Click one of the following:
◦ Redefine all elements—Redefine all reassembled fasteners.
◦ Redefine only the selected element—Redefine only the selected element. In this case, the relation to the group is lost.
◦ OK or Cancel—Continue the redefine process or close the dialog box and stop the redefinition.
The Screw Fastener Definition dialog box or the Dowel Pin Fastener Definition dialog box opens.
3. Change the definition of the fastener as required.
4. Click OK to accept the changes and redefine the fastener or Cancel to close the dialog box.

Embedded components cannot be redefined.
