Particles Outputs
This topic describes the different types of outputs that you can obtain in the Particle module. When you select boundaries or volumes under Surface, the Variable list appears.
The syntax for the Variable list is as follows:
<Variable Name> <Space>:<Space>[<Unit>]<Space>:<Space><Module name>
For example: Pressure : [Pa] : Flow
You can view the particle in the output in the Properties panel and 2D Plot tab using the following options:
Display Window
2D Plot—Module outputs and for the boundary outputs.
Display Window
The output variables appear in terms of the particle distribution in the display window over the entire fluid domain.
The parameters for the particle display follow:
Show Particles—Displays the following options to view the particles:
Show All Particles
Show Stuck Only
Show Moving Only
Linear Separation Tolerance
Particle Size Scale (view only)—A multiplier that changes the size of the particles. You can select the scale to view the particles or streaklines.
Line Thickness

Module
The module-related parameters for particles are as follows:
Flow Analysis Tree > Physics > Particle
Properties panel > [Desired Property]
The plot parameters for the module are as follows:
No. of Particles—Total number of particles released with respect to time
Mass of Particles
No. of Stuck Particles
Mass of Stuck Particles
Boundary
The parameters available for plotting differ based on the boundary condition and the release condition that you select using Release Particle. They are different for particles set to Massless and Has Mass.
When you set Release Particle to Yes for a boundary, the following parameters are available in the Properties panel:
Parameters for Open Boundary Conditions
Parameters for Wall Boundary Conditions
Parameters for Symmetry Boundary Conditions
Massless
No. of Released Particles
No. of Released Particles Per Step
No. of Exited Particles
No. of Exited Particles Per Step
