About the Remove Feature
The Remove feature enables you to remove geometry without the need to alter feature history, edit references, or redefine a number of other features. When you remove geometry, the neighboring surfaces are extended or trimmed until they meet each other, or meet other surfaces in the model, to form a closed volume.

The Remove tool has two modes:
—Remove surfaces
—Remove edge chains
The user interface displays different items depending on the mode and the geometry you select to remove.
Different solutions exist for removing geometry. Within the Remove tool, you can navigate through the available solutions and select the solution that best fits your design intent.
For multi-contour surfaces, you can select contours to be excluded from the Remove feature.
You can perform feature operations such as suppress, resume, group, and so on, on the Remove feature.
The system provides a default name for each Remove feature as you create it. The default name includes Remove and a sequentially incremented number, for example, Remove 1.
General rules for creating a Remove feature
All surfaces that will be extended or trimmed must be adjacent to the boundary defined by the references
Surfaces that will be extended must be extendable
Extended surfaces must converge to form a closed volume
New patches are not created when surfaces are extended
