About Datum Target Annotation Element
A Datum Target Annotation Element (DTAE) specifies datum target geometry. A DTAE is a datum target symbol associated to a Set Datum Tag Annotation Element (SDTAE). You can attach a DTAE to target areas, datum points, datum curves, edges, and axes.
Note the following points about DTAEs:
• You can create DTAEs only in a DTAF.
• In the graphics area, Creo Parametric displays the datum target symbol as circle attached to its reference using a leader. The upper half of the circle contains the dimensions if the target symbol that you used to create the Annotation Element contains dimensions, otherwise it is empty. The lower half of the circle indicates the name of the associated SDTAE and a number. When you add another DTAE to the DTAF, Creo Parametric increments the number by one in the new DTAE.
• The naming convention for DTAE is AE_DATUM_TARGET_<SDTAE name><n> For example, if the SDTAE name is A, then the first DTAE in a DTAF is displayed in the Model Tree as AE_DATUM_TARGET_A1, the second is named AE_DATUM_TARGET_A2 and so on.
• When you select an SDTAE on the Model Tree or in the graphics area, Creo Parametric highlights all DTAEs in the DTAF in secondary color. However, if you select any DTAE in a DTAF, the SDTAE is not highlighted, but all other DTAE's are highlighted in secondary color.
• You cannot propagate SDTAEs and DTAEs in a DTAF.
• You can include the DTAEs in User Defined Features (UDFs).
• You can search for DTAEs by setting in the Search Tool dialog box Look for and Look by to Annotation Element, selecting Type and setting Value to Datum Target. The Search Tool dialog box opens when you click > .
• You can pattern a DTAF.
• DTAF does not support the > and > command.
