To Use a Solid Model as a Multitasking Tool
1. Click File > Open Tool Library > Use Outline in the Tools Setup dialog box. The Open dialog box opens.
Alternatively, you can add a new multitasking tool when defining Area, Groove, or Profile turning steps.
2. Select the name of the multitasking tool model and click Open.
The names of the component parts and assemblies of the tool model are placed in the BOM and Offset tables located on the BOM tab and Offset Table tab.
If you define an angular offset for a tip in the solid tool assembly, the cell for that tip in the Angular Offset column of the Offset Table tab is populated with the value as shown in the following figure. You cannot edit the value in the Angular Offset column of the Tools Setup dialog box.
*
You cannot edit the value of the angular offset for TIP2 through TIP6 for flash turning tools.
