Creating Scenes
To Create a New Scene
1. On the View tab, click Scenes and click Edit Scene in the gallery. The Scene Editor dialog box opens.
2. Click . The scene with the default settings is added to the Gallery and is also applied to the model.
3. You can type description for the scene in the Description box under Active Scene.
4. Click the Save scene with model check box to save the scene with the model.
5. Click . The Save As dialog box opens.
6. Type the required name in the File Name box and click OK. The scene is saved as a scene file with a .scn extension.
To Create a New Scene by Copying an Existing Scene
To create a new scene by copying an existing scene, you need to open a model that does not have a scene saved with it.
1. On the View tab, click Scenes and click Edit Scene in the gallery. The Scene Editor dialog box opens
2. Select a scene from the Gallery and click or right-click on the scene thumbnail and click Copy. A copy of the selected scene is created in the gallery. The copied scene is added to the Gallery as a new scene with a symbol on its thumbnail.
3. To activate the new scene, double-click its thumbnail in the scene gallery. The new scene is loaded the graphics window in the current session.
4. Edit environment, lights, and background settings for the model, if required.

When you edit the scene, the symbol on the scene's thumbnail changes to a symbol, indicating that the scene has been modified.
5. Click the Save scene with model check box and save the model. The new scene is saved with the model. If you continue modifying the scene and saving the model, the latest updates of the scene and the model are saved.

The Save scene with model check box is not clicked by default. When you set the save_scene_with_file configuration option to yes, Save scene with model remains selected for the duration of the session.
6. Click to save the scene as a scene file.
To Reuse a Scene from Another Model
1. Open a model that has a scene saved with it.
2. On the View tab, click Scenes and click Edit Scene in the gallery. The Scene Editor dialog box opens. The scene that is saved with the model is loaded in the Gallery for the session.
3. Click or right-click on the scene's thumbnail in the Gallery and click Copy. A copy of this scene is created in the Gallery. The copied scene's thumbnail also has a symbol on it.
4. Open a second model that has a scene saved with it.
5. The second model's scene is loaded in the Gallery. The second model and its scene now become the active model and the active scene.
6. Double-click the first model's copied scene that is available in the Gallery, to apply this scene to the second model.
7. Click the Save scene with model check box under Active Scene in the Scene tab and save the model. The scene is saved with the model.
