Scenario 2: To Assemble a Component from the Windchill Database
1. Register a Windchill server from Creo.
2. Create an assembly in Creo.
3. Use one of the following ways to locate and assemble a component:
Using the Folder Browser
Click Folder Browser and click the Workspace cabinet. The Workspace contents page opens in the Creo browser. Locate a component and click in the Creo browser.
Using the Component > Assemble > AssembleCreo command
Click Component > Assemble > Assemble. The Open dialog box displays the contents of the active workspace. Locate the component and click Open.
Using the search tool
Click to open the search tool. Specify a Windchill location, Creo models as the object type, and the file name of a server object. Click Search. From the search results, drag the file name of the component into the graphics window or click the hyperlink provided with the file name.
4. After you assemble the component, you can add more components.
5. Check in the assembly to the Windchill database using the File > Check In > Custom Check In command. Select a destination folder for your assembly.
