Scenario 1: To Download a Part from the Workspace
*
To interact with the Windchill server from Creo, you must register the server with Creo.
1. Start a Creo application. If your server connection is set, Creo connects to the server at startup.
*
The Creo application prompts you to enter the user name and password for the server when you attempt to perform a File > Open task or if you select the Windchill Commonspace or Workspace cabinets in the Folder browser.
2. Specify the user name and password for the server.
3. Click Folder Browser and click the Workspace cabinet. The Workspace contents page opens in the Creo browser.
4. Select a part on the Workspace contents page.
5. In the Actions column, click to download and open the selected part in Creo.
6. When you begin to modify the part, for example, change its dimensions, Creo displays a message asking you if you want to check out the part. Click Yes to check out the part. The status of the part in the workspace changes to checked out. You can now start making changes to the part.
7. After the changes are complete, you can save your part to the workspace or check it in to the database using the File > Check In > Custom Check In command.
*
You can configure where Creo must save the part.
