Identifying Changes Using Standalone Creo View ECAD Compare
The ECAD user compares the compare-to-design *.eda file with the *.eda file of the modified design, created in Step 3 and Step 5 of the previous stage, in Creo View ECAD as follows:
1. Opens Creo View ECAD.
2. Loads the baseline design and the modified *.eda files.
3. Clicks Tools > Compare in Creo View ECAD to compare the two *.eda files. The comparison results are generated as an incremental EDMD IDX file.
*
Make sure to set the ECAD-MCAD configuration within Compare.
4. Opens Creo View ECAD Validate.
5. Loads the incremental EDMD IDX file with the results of the comparison.
6. Reviews and marks the changes in the incremental EDMD IDX file as Change or Difference.
7. Saves the incremental EDMD IDX file with the marked changes.
8. Sends the incremental EDMD IDX file with the marked changes to the Creo Parametric user.
