To Create, Orient, and Place a 2D View
1. Select an entity on the active drawing and click Views > Create 2D View on the Legacy Migration tab. If you did not select the drawing entity before you clicked Views > Create 2D View, the Select dialog box prompts you to select the entity.
2. Accept the default scale or specify a scale for the new view. The Drawing Tree displays the new view as LDA_VIEW.
*
When you create an isometric view, you must orient the 3D model relative to the isometric view as LDA does not map isometric views. For all other views, you can click Views > Match View on the Legacy Migration tab or right-click the drawing and click Match View to place the 3D model view relative to the 2D view. Alternatively, click Map > Create Model Views on the Legacy Migration tab or right-click and click Create Model Views to automatically map the new 2D views to the corresponding model views.
3. If the view is isometric, click Views > Orient View on the Legacy Migration tab or right-click the drawing and click Orient View to orient a 3D view relative to the 2D view. The Select dialog box prompts you to select two entities.
4. Select two coplanar and non-parallel edges on the model as references.
5. Select the corresponding two edges on the drawing and click OK on the Select dialog box. If the model view edges match the edges on the drawing view, LDA orients the 3D model view relative to the 2D view.
6. To create a model view and place the view relative to the 2D view, click Model Views > General View. The Drawing View dialog box opens with the view type set to General by default.
7. Specify a name for the general view in View name and click OK.
8. Change the orientation of the general view to a previously-saved orientation that matches the orientation of the created 2D view or select a location on the drawing for the model view.
9. Click Views > Match View on the Legacy Migration tab or right-click the drawing and click Match View to place the 3D model view relative to the 2D view. The Select dialog box prompts you to select a reference entity.
10. Select an edge on the model and the corresponding entity on the drawing as reference and click OK in the Select dialog box. LDA moves the 3D view so that it superimposes the 2D view and places the model view relative to the 2D view.
