To Import a MEDUSA File of a Part or Assembly

Data Exchange > Interface > Working with Data Exchange Formats > MEDUSA > To Import a MEDUSA File of a Part or Assembly

1. Click File >

Open. The File Open dialog box opens.

2. Select Medusa (*.asc) from the Type list.

3. Select the MEDUSA file that you want to import from the list of available files or browse to find the file.

4. Click Import. The Import New Model dialog box opens. The model type is set to Part or Assembly by default in Typedepending on whether you selected a part or assembly file for the import.

5. Select an import profile from the Profile list or click Details to modify the import options in the current profile.

6. Click the Misc tab in the import profile and set units for the model from the Facet units list.

If you select Custom, you can enter a value greater than zero in the adjacent text-box. The unit factor is set to 1.0 by default.

7. Click OK in the import profile.

8. Accept the default name for the MEDUSA part or assembly you want to import or type a new name in the File name box.

9. Click OK in the Import New Model dialog box to complete the import of the MEDUSA file. The import log file is automatically generated in the working directory.
