About Restoring the Missing Components of TIM Assemblies
If you enable Associative Topology Bus (ATB) before you import large assemblies, the missing Translated Image Model (TIM) components of the imported assemblies display broken links (
) because the missing TIM components have lost their links to their source files during the import of the assemblies. However, the ATB information stored with the missing TIM part and assembly components includes the source file name and path. The source file path of the missing TIM component is the same as the path of the assembly model.
Therefore, you can use the following ATB commands to establish the links between the missing source files and the empty TIM parts and subassemblies and restore the missing components:
• Check Status
• Update
| You must first check the status of the missing TIM components before you update the missing TIM components. If you use > before you use > , Creo informs you that there are no models to update. As a result, the empty TIM parts and subassemblies continue to remain as missing components in the imported assembly. |
You must, therefore, select a missing TIM component and click > > > and then click > > > or directly click > > > . You can, alternatively, right-click the TIM and click > and then click > .
ATB updates the missing TIM components only when it finds the source files of the missing TIM components. When you check the status of the TIMs, Auto Check Status on Update or Check Status searches for the source files of the missing TIM components and restores the source files based on the ATB information stored with the TIMs that includes the source file names and path. Auto Check Status on Update or Check Status searches and restores the source files of the missing TIM components from the directory or folder set as the value of the atb_search_path configuration option. You must, therefore, use the atb_search_path configuration option to add the location of the source files of the missing TIM components to the ATB search path before you use the ATB commands to check status and update the missing TIM components. For CADDS 5 models, the source files are restored from the location set as the value of the extend_cvpath configuration option or the CVPATH environment variable. When the Check Status command restores the source files of the missing TIM components, the missing TIM parts and assemblies show the out-of-date status. You can use the > command to update the TIM components. The > > > command automatically checks the status of the TIM components before it updates the TIM components.
| > converts the missing TIM part and subassembly components to imported part and subassembly models that are not ATB-enabled. However, the TIM components remain as missing components in the imported assemblies and display the missing components icon on the Model Tree. |
