About Combined Views
With a combined view, you can combine and apply multiple View Manager display states to the top-level assembly. You can save combined views to switch between customized displays of models. Save changes to a combined view in the View Manager dialog box. Combined views are composed of two or more display state elements:
• Model orientation
• Simplified representation
• Model style
• Cross section
• Exploded view, including cosmetic offset lines
• Layer state
• Appearance state
When you redefine a combined view, you can include or exclude annotations and supplementary geometry as datum planes, points, coordinate systems, axes, curves, and surfaces. When you do not specifically include annotations and supplementary geometry, their visibility is controlled by layers. When you include annotations, all visible annotations in the top-level assembly and in assembly components are automatically assigned to the current Combination State. You can control the visibility of annotations and supplementary geometry included in the Combination State from the Model Tree. Select the annotation or supplementary geometry in the Model Tree, right-click, and select one of the following options:
• (Assign to State)—Assigns the selected annotation or supplementary geometry to display in the active Combination State.
• (Remove from State)—Removes the selected annotation or supplementary geometry in the active Combination State.
• (Erase)—Erases the annotation from the graphics window in the active Combination State.
• (Unerase)—Displays the erased annotation in the graphics window in the active Combination State.
You can use the Combined Views bar to switch between combined views in session. You can click a combined view tab to display the view in the assembly window or the part window. A thumbnail preview of the combined view appears when you move the pointer over the combined view name on the tab. When the combined_views_customization configuration option is set to yes, you can order and preview the views and select combined views to include or exclude from the bar. Combined view information can be saved to the model.
