To Create a Point Pattern at a Profile End
1. Click Framework > Point Pattern. The Point Pattern dialog box opens.
2. Click . Under References the first reference collector is activated and the label Placement plane appears above it.
3. In the model, select a placement plane for the point pattern, near the profile end. A preview of the point pattern is displayed and the X direction reference collector is activated.
4. If required, in the model select a reference plane for the X direction perpendicular to the desired X direction of the pattern. The Y direction reference collector is activated.
5. If required, in the model select a reference plane for the Y direction perpendicular to the desired Y direction of the pattern.
6. Type values for the dimensions X0, X1, N_X, Y0, Y1, and N_Y.
7. To create a point pattern with holes, select the check box With holes and type a dimension value in the DM box. To change the default hole end surface click the Hole End Surface box and select a plane.
8. To create the point pattern symmetric to the X direction, select the X direction symmetric check box.
9. To create the point pattern symmetric to Y direction, select the Y direction symmetric check box.
10. To create a point pattern using an automatic UDF definition of holes in parts that are attached to the profile, select the With automatic UDF attachment hole check box, and type a value for the attach hole depth in the T box.
11. Click one of the options listed below to continue:
OK to complete point pattern creation and close the dialog box.
Repeat to complete point pattern creation without closing the dialog box and continue with creating another point pattern.
Cancel to cancel point pattern creation and close the dialog box.
