What's New: Creo Parametric 6.0 > Data Management > Reusing the Common Name

Reusing the Common Name
You can reuse the common name of the original part or assembly when performing any operation that results in an existing component or assembly being saved as a new component or assembly.
Release: Creo Parametric 6.0.0.0
What is the benefit of this enhancement?
In earlier releases, if you want to assign the same common name from your original model, you must manually enter the common name for a model during a save as, replace, or mirroring operation, to a Windchill server. In Creo Parametric 6.0.0.0, you can automatically retain the common name when duplicating parts and assemblies during a save as operation. This reduces errors.
