Vortex Shedding: Overview
The Vortex Shedding is an oscillating flow phenomenon that takes place, when a fluid such as air flows over a bluff body at certain velocities, depending on the shape and size of the body. In this vortex flow, vortices are created at the back of the bluff body and detach periodically from either side of the body forming a Von Kármán vortex street. The flow creates alternating low-pressure vortices on the downstream of the object. This tutorial simulates the vortex shedding phenomenon. Air enters the inlet at a velocity of 1 m/s and leaves outlet at a pressure of 0 Pa.
