Cyclone Separator Exercise 4—Assigning Boundary Conditions
For boundary conditions, the fluid behavior and properties are specified at all bounding surfaces of the fluid domain.
Specifying Inlet Boundary Conditions
1. Under Boundary Conditions, select BC_1.
2. In the Model tab select the following values for the options listed:
FlowSpecified Velocity
MethodBoundary Normal
Flow DirectionInflow
Normal Velocity Component—5 m/s
3. In the Model tab for Streamline set Release Particle to Yes
Specifying Outlet Boundary Conditions
1. Under Boundary Conditions, select BC_2.
2. In the Model tab select the following values for the options listed:
FlowSpecified Pressure Outlet
Pressure—101325 Pa
Specifying Volume Conditions
1. To set the fluid, click Materials. The Material Selection dialog box opens. The fluid properties are set automatically when you select a new fluid.
2. For fluid domain CYCLONE_4_1_FLUID select air.
