To Define Mechanism Settings
Use Mechanism settings to define the absolute tolerance by changing the relative tolerance or the characteristic length, or both.
1. Perform one of the following steps:
◦ Click
File >
Prepare >
Model Properties. The
Model Properties dialog box opens. On the
Mechanism line, click
change.
◦ Right-click Mechanism in the Mechanism Tree and select Settings from the shortcut menu.
The Settings dialog box opens.
2. Clear the Issue a warning when the assembly fails to connect check box to cancel the warning message if the assembly fails.
3. In the Run preferences area, select a preference (Pause when analysis run fails or Continue when analysis run fails) for handling analysis run failures. Clear the Graphical display during run check box to improve performance by turning off the graphical display during an analysis run.
4. In the Regeneration preferences area, select a preference (Remove or Maintain) for handling analysis run results after regeneration. Select the Use regeneration values check box to include the regeneration values in an analysis run.
5. You can change both the Relative tolerance and the Characteristic length settings by typing a new value in the respective boxes. The Relative tolerance value should be from 1e-10 to 0.1. The default value of 0.001 is usually satisfactory. Consider changing the Characteristic length setting when the largest part is much larger than the smallest one.
6. Click OK.
