About Simulating Reaching
You can simulate a reach of the active manikin towards a target without manually changing its posture, segment by segment.
• Reach—For the manikin's hands, feet, or fingertips that constrains the manikin segment to an element of the product geometry. You can create reach constraints between the manikin’s segment and a point, a point and a plane (orientation), or a point and two planes (fully constrained). After you have defined the reach, you can save it as a snapshot in the Manikin Tree.
• Reach envelope—Shows the area that a person can reach while sitting or standing during a task.
