About the Comparative Tracking Index
The Comparative Tracking Index (CTI) indicates the conductivity of a material. Greater the number, lesser the conductivity. You should assign appropriate CTIs to all components and quilts in an assembly before analyzing the clearance and creepage paths in the assembly. All components and quilts not having a CTI or with a CTI equal to zero are treated as conductive.
Use the parameter COMPARATIVE_TRACKING_INDEX to store and assign the CTI for any component in an assembly. You can also use Material Definition dialog box to assign the parameter to any component.
You can classify the components according to their CTIs and display all components in the same CTI class in a specific color. After the analysis, when you view the creepage violations report, all the components appear in their CTI class colors.
You can store the information about CTI classes and colors in a file with a .cti extension. To view components according to their CTI class colors, specify the path and name of the CTI file. Use the CTI_CLASS_COLOR_FILE configuration option to specify the path and the name of CTI file.
