About Clearance and Creepage Files
The clearance and creepage file is a prerequisite if you want to perform clearance or creepage analysis or both between a pair of nets. It is a Microsoft Excel (*.xls, *.xlsx) or a CSV (*.csv) file on the Windows platform and a CSV (*.csv) file on UNIX. You must specify names for all the nets in each one of the following sections:
• Clearance—Contains the threshold values of clearance distance for each net pair. During the clearance analysis, if the clearance distance between a net pair is less than the specified threshold value, the violation of the threshold condition occurs.
• Creepage—Contains the threshold values of creepage distance for each net pair. During the creepage analysis, if the creepage distance between a net pair is less than the specified threshold value, the violation of the threshold condition occurs.
• Groove Width—Contains the groove widths for each net pair.
Your system administrator can create and modify the clearance and creepage files and make them available to all users at a central location.
