About Annotation
An annotation is a note-type entity created to store model information without geometry. Annotations consist of:
Notes
Symbols
Driven dimensions
Reference dimensions
Ordinate driven dimensions
Ordinate reference dimensions
Geometric tolerances
Surface finish symbols
Annotations can exist independently within the model, or be included in Annotation features. If an annotation is part of an Annotation feature, it becomes the graphic representation of an Annotation Element.
Different annotation types are created differently and have different properties. The following help topics describe techniques common to working with all annotation types.
